Tagging or keywording your images is useful for you to find your own images on your PC. I started off building my own bird species keyword lists within Lightroom to allow me to create a consistent avian image library.
The taxonomy is based on Rasmussen, Pamela C; Anderton, John C. (2005): Birds of South Asia: The Ripley Guide with Clement 6.4 checklist.
I had also added IUCN Redlist Category as per 2009 Redlist. Redlist category is in below mentioned format to incorporate out future updates and changes.
eg.
2009_LC --> Least Concern as per 2009 Redlist
2009_NT --> Near Threatened as per 2009 Redlist
Hope you will like it.
IMPORTANT: I recommend that you back-up your Lightroom database before importing these keywords, especially if you already have species keywords.
1. After downloading, unzip the text file into a folder on your computer. For example, My Documents.
2. Open Lightroom, Library module and select Metadata->import keywords.
3. Navigate to where you saved the keyword file and press "Open".
4.After the import has finished you should have a top-level keyword (e.g. "Birds") - expand that to see all the species organised by family.
5. You just add the species name to your species and Lightroom will add the rest when you export.
